Sweating Copper for the first TIme

This is one of the before pictures that shows the ancient faucet, cut-off valves for the washer hookups and the 500 pound concrete and lead laundry sink from the 1950's. (72kb) DCP_1597.jpg (73kb) DCP_1598.jpg (72kb) I didn't think od taking any pictures of the engineering feat to lower the 500 lb. sink using blocks , (4) jack stands and a floor jack. I did the work in my pajamas while everyone was asleep! I jumped forward to the completed work that i had to tear down and re-do. My measurements were off. (71kb) A 1/2 inch Ball-valve on 1/2 inch
The top 1/2 DCP_1603.jpg (102kb) Here is the existing galvanized grain pipe that angled off the main drainage at an impossible angle such that i had to modify the rear left sink leg (not visible) in a most extreme manner with bull-dog snips. This drain trap would in a pigs eye match up in exactly one million years. I had to modify this this set-up as well as plumbing has chnaged little in 50 years. I had to cut this &*%^%$# pipe and go PVC. (75kb) This is as close as this trap would ever get to mating with the drain. (60kb) The galvanized pipe is gone like the pizza I cooked last night and in it's place I placed a rubber bootand a section of 3
Another shot out of sequence. (93kb) DCP_1614e.jpg (58kb) Fast forward- It has been in place an hour and I have managed to clutter it up already....not really! The finished project....10,000 trips to Lowes and Home Depot. These are Home Improvements. (53kb) Looks Good eh? Me, Back-yard Bob till next time! (40kb)
